School closure
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Government have taken the decision to close all schools from Friday 20th March.
Belleville will therefore close at the end of the school day on Friday.
We have been preparing for this closure for some time and your child will come home on Friday with:
An exercise book
Stationery
Paper
Some books from the class library
Photocopies of some useful resources to support your child’s maths learning.
If you have already kept your child off school you can collect a pack (without reading books) from the foyer of the school offices from 3.30pm on Friday. If you are self-isolating because you or someone in your home has symptoms, do not come into school to collect this pack.
Attached to this email is a letter from John Grove, on behalf of the Trust, outlining how we can support your child’s learning and wellbeing whilst they are at home via the Q1E website.
The letter also outlines arrangements for children that the government have asked us to offer a provision to (children of key workers, ‘vulnerable’ groups).
If you believe your children are in one of these categories (children of key workers, ‘vulnerable’), and you would like your children to access provision during the closure period, please contact us by coming to the school office, phoning the school, or emailing enquiries@bellevilleschool.org as soon as possible and by no later than 8am on Friday 20th March so that we can make arrangements.
The letter details these groups and the information that we will need from you so please read it carefully.
The letter also sets out the arrangements we have put in place to support children who are entitled to a free school meal and will not be coming into school.
We have also attached some more details of where you can find support for managing anxiety, practical support such as food banks and resources for your children.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish every member of our school community the best at this extraordinary time.
The situation we are about to enter is unparalleled but we know our staff have appreciated your ongoing support.
We are lucky to serve such a lovely group of children and families and we are looking forward to seeing you all again as soon as possible.
Best wishes,
Sarah Atherton Mary-Lyne Latour
